Making Labor History in Washington State:
This past August at the WSLC convention a groundbreaking resolution was passed establishing constituency group representation on their executive board. This resolution also gives each constituency group member on the board a voice and a vote and provides for a delegate and alternate delegate to the convention for each group. The WSLC is the first state federation in the nation to do this. In order for a Constituency group to have a member on the board, they must be affiliated with the WSLC.
We are proud to announce the that James Davis, Iron Workers Local 86 member and treasurer of the Seattle Chapter, will represent APRI on the WSLC Executive Board. We hope this is only the beginning! With education of constituency groups around the nation we hope we can start a campaign to have this resolution passed by every state federation.
